Rapid prototyping and paper-based games

Each of the domains that are comprised in this project are complex and highly specialized. It is productive and desirable to be able to get some quick successes in order to foreground joy and engagement. We have adopted the methods of rapid prototyping with paper-based games as a way to both teach/explore the fundamentals of game design and to assess game play of games that will be interpreted as a computer videogames.

Paper prototypes are a low-tech, low-resolution representation of potential rules, actions, and settings. These can be made with blank sheets of paper, pencils, colored markers, scissors, tape, and - sometimes - sticky notes.
